EVANDALE'S ANZAC SERVICE
On Friday the 25th of April, Evandale’s ANZAC service was held at the Evandale Memorial Park in High Street. We represented the school and laid the Evandale Primary School wreath along with helping give out the other wreaths that were being presented. The day started with the Air Force Cadets doing a formation march around the centre pole. Then a student from Kings Meadows High School read the poem ‘Flanders Fields’. The ANZAC address was read by an ex- air force solider. Local business wreaths were laid followed by the personal wreaths. We finished by singing the New Zealand and Australian National Anthem and enjoying a lovely morning tea.
Charlotte wore some medals from her great grandfather Fredrick who served in WWII. He received 4 medals and one of the medals was the military cross. The military cross was given to soldiers who showed extreme bravery and is a very rare medal to recieve. Charlotte's family are very proud to have his medals.
