Salamat Siang – Good Afternoon!
Australia-Indonesia BRIDGE School Partnership:
We are excited to welcome our Indonesian teacher visitors very soon – in Week 5. Blake has created an amazing Evandale Primary introduction video about our school. We have sent this video to our Indonesian partners, and they loved it, and they are really looking forward to visiting our school community and getting to know how we learn at EPS. Their biggest fear is coping with the colder weather. The video has been shared on our school Facebook page.
We have been organising where Miss Anisa and Mr Faudi will be staying whilst they are here. Big thanks to Mrs Rachel Riley, mum of Isaac in Year 5, who has offered to host Mr Faudi for five nights. Thanks to Emily Booth, mum of Poppy and Mirabelle, who will be hosting Miss Anisa.
We are planning a big week to welcome and immerse Miss Anisa and Mr Fuadi in our whole school community with a number of events like a visit from the Hawthorn Football Club, 3-6 Swimming Carnival, our school photos, a cultural day along with spending time with our students and teachers in classrooms.
Mr Fuadi and Miss Anisa will be arriving at Launceston Airport at about 3:00pm on Sunday 10th November. Please let us know if you would like to be a welcome party at the airport!
Sharing Culture Community Afternoon
You are cordially invited to a Sharing of Cultures Afternoon so you can meet and chat with Mr Fuadi and Miss Anisa. It will be on Tuesday the 12th of November just after school from 3-4pm. We will have a number of Aussie and Indonesian games for everyone to have a go at, along with an Aussie themed BBQ and afternoon tea. The Community Champions will be supporting us with the BBQ and we welcome you to bring a plate (with an Aussie theme) to share. Some ideas include vegemite sandwiches, green and gold jelly cups, lamingtons or little meringues. Please let one of the Community Champions know if you can help out on the BBQ!
Swim Carnival
Our 3-6 Swim Carnival is at the Hagley Farm School Pool on Wednesday the 13th of November from 10-2pm. Parents of students in grades 3-6 will receive an information note this week with all the details. Please note that the major excursion paperwork that you may have completed recently for your child to participate in the Swimming and Water Safety Program also covers the required permissions for the swimming carnival. Parents of Grade 6 students however will need to complete and return the Major Excursion paperwork, together with the aquatic activity permissions slip, and return this to school by COB Monday the 11th of November. Should you have any questions about our swimming carnival, please speak with your child’s teacher, the office staff or Mr Lynch.
School Photo Day
Just a reminder that School Photo Day is Thursday the 14th of November.
Garage Sale
We have a number of excess furniture items that we are looking to re-home. Please check out the Parent Notice board just up the corridor from the new DECYP value installation, for photos of items that we have for sale. Please see the office if you are interested in purchasing any of the items.
Dogs
Just a friendly reminder that it is department policy that dogs are not on school grounds unless prior arrangement has been made with your childs class teacher.
Just a reminder that TOMORROW - Friday the 1st of November is a Student Free Day and Monday the 4th of November is a long weekend.
We look forward to welcoming students back to school on Tuesday the 5th of November.

Refurbished iPads for sale
We are currently updating our fleet of devices for student use and have a number of refurbished Generation 6 iPads for sale. They will be completely wiped, IT checked and sold in “as is” condition for $150.00 each. Please note that they will not come with a charger but these are easy to come by if you don’t have some apple chargers at home already. These iPads have absolutely nothing wrong with them, they are just over 5 years old now and DECYP has a policy that learners will have access to devices that are current and no more than 5 years old.
We are unable to hold devices and would prefer you come in person to the office to pay for and collect the iPads rather than sending them home with students. Payments can be made by eftpos or cash. At this time it looks like we have around 14 devices to sell.
