Good Afternoon Families,
School Satisfaction Survey
Thank you to the families who have supported us and completed a Family Satisfaction survey. The Department of Education conducts School Satisfaction Surveys to find out what a school does well and where it may improve. Your feedback along with the feedback from The Student Wellbeing and Engagement Survey (SWES) and School Staff Survey will inform our school improvement planning and decision-making.
It is not too late – the survey is open until the 20th of September (TOMORROW).
Take the online survey by clicking this Link, or pasting it in your browser: https://nam.dcv.ms/LKc8ljigJ5
Being Safe Online
Last Friday Senior Constable Annabel Shegog talked to our 4-5-6 class about being safe online and how to protect personal information, respect boundaries and how to get help. The Share A.W.A.R.E is a helpful acronym
- A is for APPROPRIATE: You need to consider if what you are about to share is APPROPRIATE. Is the content suitable to be shared online? Is it illegal?
- W is for WHO: WHO could see what you share? Are you sharing it just to your real friends and family or could anyone see it?
- A is for ACCURATE: Is what you are about to share ACCURATE? Is it real and true or is it a rumour, fake or pretend?
- R is for RESPECTFUL: Is your post RESPECTFUL? Will someone be hurt or upset by what you share?
- E is for ENVIRONMENT: Think about the ENVIRONMENT of the post you are about to share. Is it a photo with a background that may indicate your location, or your school or home address? Is it from a confidential or private conversation?
The answers to these questions can be asked before sharing any type of content.

BRIDGE PROGRAM - Indonesian Teachers Visit to Evandale
We are super excited to share this inter-cultural experience with our whole community. There will be many learning outcomes of this experience including building our connections with other cultures, having a deeper understanding of diversity, inclusion and respect for others. At school we are currently learning about Indonesian language and geography.
Miss Anisa and Mr Fuadi will be visiting our school and community in Week 5 of Term 4 from Sunday 10th November until Saturday 16th November. We are planning a week where they will be emersed in our community, school and Australian culture through events and connections with our school and local and wider community.
We would love you help with the following:
- Ideas for welcoming our BRIDGE Indonesian partner school teachers to Evandale and event, activities or experiences through the week 10th – 16th Nov.
- Consider if you could host Miss Anisa or Mr Fuadi for a night or more at your residence (you will receive a meal allowance for their visit).
If there are any members of our community that have special connections and knowledge about Indonesia (with a RWVP and volunteer Safeguarding training).
Our nominees for Aussie of the Month for September were:
Casey - For being a good sport - he listens and cares about people, he is respectful and kind, a good friend and helpful in the classroom.
Regan - Her peers nominated her for her willingness to share and co-operate with others.
Zayne - Zayne has had a great month. He has shown amazing growth in his learning and has been doing a great job playing football on a Friday.

EVANDALE PRIMARY SCHOOL COMMUNITY CHAMPIONS
The Community Champions have been working hard behind the scenes to raise some money for our fantastic little school and having some fun along the way. In the short time we have raised just over $10,000. These events include Cross Country BBQ, Mad Hatter Disco, wood raffle, father's day stall, 3 x out-sourced catering events, which could NOT have happened without the amazing support from our hard working members/volunteers. Whether it was cooking beautiful food, helping with setups, sourcing all other materials or packaging and transporting food, these events wouldn't have been possible without their help. We have also been working closely with the school in reviving the school orchard and gardens for the students to be able to use these spaces.
We have our first ever Paint & Sip event this Saturday 21st September, which will be a night of laughter and fun.
The Community Champions are a group of like-minded people that want to help our students and school to keep growing and to create some fun and lasting memories along the way. Please keep and eye out for future events for Term 4 on our Facebook page and also on our Community Champions noticeboard in the school hallway.
