Dear families,
An Update…
We are excited to share that we are a finalist in the National Kitchen Garden Foundation Awards. Our stunning visual imagined by Matilda from 3-4 and accompanying poem highlights our aspirations for students, families and the school community learning to how to grow, harvest, prepare and share fresh, seasonal, delicious food.
Our poem begins…
Snuggled in the village of Evandale where sunlight gently gleams,
The earth whispers secrets and the air hums with dreams,
Lies a patch of harmony, where togetherness shows,
In every sprout, branch, and leaf, a community gently grows.
The prize pack would give our school community access to a two-year membership to the globally recognised Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program which supports communities to plant the seeds for a lifetime of positive eating habits and enjoyment of food. Fingers and toes crossed!
Reminders…
Please see attached Calendar of Events – weeks 6-10 updated parent friendly calendar.

Evandale Primary's Book Week: A Magical Celebration of Characters and Creativity
Evandale Primary recently transformed into a world of imagination as almost one hundred beloved children’s book characters gathered to celebrate the magic of reading. Students and teachers alike embraced the fun, with Gangsta Grannie causing a bit of chaos—reminding everyone to keep their belongings safe. Thankfully, with so many police officers on hand, she had to stay on her toes!
Willy Wonka made a grand entrance with his Oompa Loompas in tow, though it’s unclear whether any chocolate was shared (we’re still hoping!). Old MacDonald didn’t just bring his farm, but also a lamb that had the children laughing and playing throughout the day.
The day wouldn’t have been complete without a sprinkle of magic from the many princesses and fairies who floated around the school. With their glittering gowns and sparkling wings, they brought a sense of wonder and enchantment to the festivities. Little ones were thrilled to see their favorite fairy tale heroines come to life, while witches and wizards added an extra dose of magical mischief to the fun.
Meanwhile, the playground was bustling with dinosaurs, crocodiles, and superheroes springing into action. Hungry creatures kept everyone on their toes—especially a strawberry that looked a bit nervous as the Hungry Caterpillar crept closer for a snack!
As if that wasn’t enough excitement, the 4/5/6 class had an extra treat—a Book Week cake, courtesy of their class chef, which ensured no one left hungry.
Book Week at Evandale Primary proved to be a magical celebration of literature, laughter, and creativity. It left everyone eagerly anticipating next year’s characters and adventures.

A wonderful opportunity available to help out with these adorable lambs!
Taking care of a baby lamb can be a rewarding experience, especially knowing that you’re giving it the care and attention it needs.
If anyone in our community has the time and resources it would be a great if you could assist in raising these suffolk babies (most of the lambs are one of triplets - just too many for mum to care for).
If anyone's interested, they should definitely reach out to Rodney on 0487 225 805 to learn more about what’s involved in nurturing these woolly babies!
