School uniform reminder
Thank you to those families who are providing appropriate school uniform options for their children. If your child is currently wearing really tight short bike shorts, then we would really appreciate you finding an alternative option. TOOL SKOOL
On Monday the 5th May we were lucky enought to have Tool Skool come to our school.
We built things from timber to make wooden boats and other items. We used many different tools and materials. We used hammers, nails, saws, glue and paper to make the sails.
We had lots of fun with Asher who taught us how to buld these amazing things. We are grateful Asher came to our school.

KINDER FUN
Our kinder class have been very busy lately.
We have been working hard in developing and strengthening our small finger muscles and co-ordination through our daily finger gym activities We have shown great persistence in working through our rotations and we are enjoying using our creativity through construction and imaginative play.
What are fine motor skills?
Fine motor skills are the co-ordinaton and movement of small muscles of the body. These muscles are important in learning how to write and hold a pencil. The movements include fingers and hands and are an important part of development. Other muscles such as running, hopping and jumping are the larger muscles of the body and fine motor targets smaller muscles through repetitive movements which help with stamina in writing.
Here are some simple everyday ideas to try at home for fine motor development:
- picking up food with tongs
- pegging washing on the line
- stacking objects
- threading beads on a string
- using chopsticks
- picking up objects with tweezers one at a time
- lego and locking pieces together
- scissors and cutting wool, paper or cardboard
Congratulations to these students who have earned points on their PURR card!

The Premier’s Reading Challenge is a personal challenge – not a competition. What’s your best reading tally? Can you beat it?
If you figure out what you love to read, reading will be easier – so try reading different things – fiction, non-fiction – blogs, comics, poetry, lyrics, essays, magazines, newspapers… it all counts in the PRC.
This is a challenge for all Tasmanian students. It doesn’t matter what your reading level is, everyone can take part.
Reading is a skill we need for life. All the reading you do in this challenge will help you at school and at home.
